Leavenworth Proposal

As a Leavenworth wedding photographer, I get to be part of some pretty special moments. Recently, I had the honor of photographing Victor’s heartfelt proposal to his girlfriend (now fiancée!!) Sheila during a gorgeous fall day at Waterfront Park in downtown Leavenworth.

Victor had reached out to me a couple of months before the big day and shared that he was planning a trip to Leavenworth for Sheila’s birthday. The two had never been to Leavenworth together and he wanted to make the trip even more special by popping the question that weekend. He thought the river and mountains would make the perfect backdrop for proposing. It was so fun to help him plan the big moment, and I even got to see the ring he picked out beforehand!

We decided that he would get Sheila to agree to a walk in the park near their hotel before heading to dinner. I would hide along the path and wait for them, pretending to be someone enjoying the scenery myself. I was able to capture the moment Victor dropped to one knee and asked Sheila to spend forever with him. The genuine joy and emotion on Sheila’s face as she said “Yes” were truly heartwarming.

After letting them have their moment to soak in the excitement, I got to formally introduce myself and explain that Victor had set this entire thing up in advance!

After the proposal itself, we took advantage of the beautiful fall day and walked around the park taking a few more photos. I love shooting at Waterfront Park, because there’s a couple different paths that follow along the river where you can get some awesome views. There’s so many great photo spots throughout the park that I was able to take them to. I personally love how the entrance has a line of trees that just give off a romantic park feel, so I made sure we took some photos there on our way out.
