I had such a great time hanging with Irene and Christian for their Leavenworth engagement session earlier this Spring! Leavenworth is one of my favorite places to be personally and as a wedding photographer. It’s quickly become one of the most popular places my couples request for their sessions these days. So when Irene and Christian described wanting to be near open water, trees and mountains for their engagement photos I knew we had to go to Leavenworth.
Irene and Christian dated for about 8 years before getting engaged. They met when Christian started hanging out with Irene’s brother! The two instantly clicked- they both are funny and have an adventurous spirit. Like me, they both enjoy traveling and exploring new places!
Waterfront Park Engagement
Irene and Christian were so at ease with each other and it made things so easy for me when it came to photographing them. We met at Waterfront Park near downtown Leavenworth. We spent some time walking along the trails, stopping every now and then for photos. Irene shared that she wanted their photos to convey how happy they were in this stage of life, and the love they had for each other. So I focused on poses where the two would always be connected somehow. For example, hugging on to each other, holding hands or looking lovingly into each other’s eyes.
Irene and Christian shared that they were a little nervous as their time with me was the first time they had ever been professionally photographed. So I made sure to give them plenty of space and time in between some of my photo prompts. Another plus to having a Leavenworth engagement session, especially at Waterfront park, is having to actually walk around to different spots along the paths. This is great buffer time for couples who need a little break in between shots! Although by the end of our session, Irene and Christian were so comfortable in front of my camera.
