Even after years of being a Leavenworth wedding photographer, I am still so amazed at the variety of beautiful venues and natural photo locations this little town has to offer for Leavenworth engagement photos. Leavenworth is such a charming, quaint Bavarian styled town nestled in the Cascade mountains, about two hours from Seattle. Part of the charm, besides the downtown shops and restaurants, is the fact that the town is surrounded by mountains, hiking trails, rivers and creeks and beautiful vistas- which makes the perfect year-round backdrop for gorgeous PNW outdoor weddings.

Leavenworth is one of my favorite places to visit and take my couples to. I especially love the look of Leavenworth engagement photos.

Aren’t getting married in Leavenworth? You can still take advantage of the town’s charm and picturesque beauty and have your engagement session there, like Lauren and Ben decided to. One of the great things about choosing Leavenworth as the backdrop to your engagement photos is you can easily fit two or three looks and locations in since there are a few great places within a short distance of each other.

I met Lauren and Ben downtown Leavenworth at Icicle Brewing for some beers before we started their session. (Yes, grabbing a beer or glass of wine either before or after your session with me is always acceptable!)

All of my couples love that I feel more like a friend than a vendor when I’m there photographing their big day, and getting to hang out before your wedding is how we can achieve that!

Grabbing a drink or bite to eat together the day of your engagement session is a great opportunity for me to snap a few cute photos of you too! Win-Win!

We then headed to Waterfront Park, which is just a couple blocks from downtown Leavenworth. I love shooting here, especially in the fall! The paths are lined with trees, so when the leaves start falling, it’s a real vibe. There’s also a couple of paths that loop by the water with views of the river bed. (And more gorgeous trees!) We also had enough time to hit a third location. There is a trail further down the river that is referred to as the Old Pipeline Trail.

As a Leavenworth wedding photographer, I love getting to explore the area with my couples. I had such a blast with Lauren and Ben. I can’t wait to do it again for their big day next summer!
