As a Moses Lake wedding photographer, my couples look to me for session location ideas. So I thought I would put together a list of some of the best places to take engagement photos in Moses Lake!
This list should help you as you start planning your engagement session and narrowing down a location.
One thing that should help as you read through this list, is to make a list of wants and don’t wants. When you imagine your engagement photos, what do you see? Do you see river or lake views, are you downtown or in a golden field? Decide the vibe you want and go from there.
Of course I will provide some location suggestions if needed. I’ve photographed sessions all over Washington state and have some gorgeous locations I like to frequent. Together, we will create an engagement session experience that is unique to you!
Session Locations in Moses Lake
1. Downtown Moses Lake:
We have a great downtown area with a lot of character! There’s painted walls, gorgeous brick, and cute coffee shops that make for great backdrops. There’s also the cutest waterfront trail a short walk from downtown!
2. Camas Cove Cellars
Our area is full of great, picturesque wineries with amazing views! Camas Cove is just one of them. Be sure to time your session with the season as you want to take your winery engagement photos when the vines are full and lush!

3. Blue Heron Park
I love shooting at Blue Heron Park (often referred to as the State Park) because there’s so many different looks all in one place- from waterfront, to sweeping sagebrush!
4. Japanese Peace Garden
I’ve always loved visiting the Japanese Peace Garden, which is near downtown Moses Lake. It makes for a beautiful engagement session spot too, with a fun waterfall and rock pathways. Bonus, you get to look at all the Koi fish in their ponds!
5. Sand Dunes
The Moses Lake Sand Dunes offers a unique backdrop for engagement photos! Sweeping views of sand and water make this place a top shooting location. I love how it’s right in our backyards too!
Check out this romantic styled shoot for another reason why I list the sand dunes as one of the best places to take engagement photos in Moses Lake.
Session locations outside of Moses Lake
6. Potholes
Just a short drive from Moses Lake, the Potholes area is simply gorgeous! There’s beautiful cliffs and small inlets of water as far as the eye can see! Make a weekend trip of it during warm weather, and visit the MarDon Resort while you’re out there. There’s a couple spots to grab a drink and a bite to eat after you fish, golf or soak up the sun!
7. Lake Lenore Caves
Lake Lenore Caves is a great hike about 40 minutes from Moses Lake with gorgeous views of the cliffs and Lake Lenore.
8. Soap Lake
Soap Lake is a charming small town a short drive from Moses Lake, on the way up to Grand Coulee. One of my favorite spots is nestled up against the hillside, but also offers lake views and a grassy open field.
9. Vantage
Vantage is easily one of my favorite spots in Washington State! It’s a popular place to explore, with basalt columns, sagebrush and of course, epic views! Vantage is a great for hiking and rock climbing at what is called ‘The Feathers’ of Frenchman Coulee. I also love how close Vantage is to Cave B Winery in Quincy! (Which is another great session location!) While I love exploring this area on my own, it’s always such a treat to be able to photograph couples here.
10. Sagecliffe Resort and Spa/Cave B Winery
Cave B Winery and Sagecliffe Resort and Spa are on the same property, next to the Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington. The great thing about taking your engagement photos at Cave B is the variety of backdrops it offers. I love how you can take advantage of a few key spots around the property. The line of trees at the entrance, the vineyard rows themselves and of course the open fields overlooking the cliffs… all gorgeous!
Pro Tip: One thing I tell my couples is to treat their session like it’s date night. This means going out for drinks beforehand, or dinner after. At Cave B, you can do both and really soak in being out there. I can’t think of anything more special!
