This summer I took some beautiful Wenatchee engagement photos at Saddle Rock. Shannon and Conner wanted their engagement session somewhere with rolling hills and open space, so I suggested the Saddle Rock Trailhead. Saddle Rock is a popular hiking trail and overlook in Wenatchee. I knew the base of Saddle Rock, before you start heading up the trail, was going to fit the bill for them.
Shannon and Conner are recently engaged. We had such a fun time celebrating the occasion with photos (and dancing to the best country music playlist!) The two met through friends and had been dating for 4 years. They share a lot of the same interests, like caring for animals and hunting for the best finds at yard sales, and are each others biggest supporters. I wanted their photos to reflect the way they naturally were together and the love and comfort they had when in each other’s presence. Simple, effortless and fun were the guiding words I used when documenting the two of them together.
I was surprised when Shannon shared that neither of them had professional photos taken before. They were such naturals that day. I kept them moving for most of their session, and used my go to prompt based approach which definitely helped them focus on each other vs me and my camera. This is such a good way for my couples to stay relaxed and in the moment!
I took a mix of film and digital photos during their session. It’s always so fun when couples add that on to their session. (At the time of writing this, I am still waiting on film scans to come back from the lab!)
