Moses Lake Sand Dunes Anniversary session

The Moses Lake Sand Dunes are a huge draw out here. I’m talking thousands of visitors from around then Northwest each year kind of draw. And for many people, summer just isn’t summer without a trip or two to play at the dunes and it’s easy to see why. The dunes covers more than 3,000 acres and offers fun for those riding four wheelers and ATV’s. There’s also spots to swim and fish. So it’s pretty much heaven for outdoor enthusiasts! It’s also a great spot for photos!

I was dying to get back out to the dunes for a shoot, especially after being cooped up all winter. So I decided to celebrate the official start of Spring with a sunrise session at the dunes. It wasn’t the warmest morning, in fact, it was downright chilly! So shoutout to Christina and Mike for being troopers the whole time. We stuck to the beach area for our session and I absolutely loved the way the early morning light reflected off the water. Simply beautiful!

Christina and Mike did so amazing too- they were naturals despite not having had any photos taken since they got married a few years back. Their anniversary was coming up so our session couldn’t have come at a better time! I didn’t know until we started shooting but the sand dunes hold a special place in their lives. Up until last year, they lived on the west side of the state. They would visit the dunes each year though and before they knew it, this area had a hold on them. They loved it so much they decided to move here permanently!

Happy anniversary Christina and Mike! Enjoy a few more of my favorites from their session!
